Bloody Friday

Blood marked the end of week two of Pinoy Big Brother Season 2. Kuya gave a task to help the program of the Department of Health. The housemates were asked to donate blood for the DOH. The housemates were in shock upon hearing this task from Big Brother.

The blood-letting activity was a physically weakening task, hence the housemates were unable to do any strenuous work for the rest of the day. Every housemate was given a red "I Am A Blood Donor" shirt courtesy of the DOH. As the DOH personnels set up their equipment, the housemates were advised to eat something first so they will not feel very weak after the blood-letting session.

The housemates were previously given questionnaires to determine if they are healthy enough to donate blood. After a review by the DOH personnels, it was found that some of the housemates cannot donate blood because of their health conditions. The others, however, were asked to prepare themselves for the prick.

For the whole time that the blood-letting was going on, Robert was telling the other housemates about his fear of blood which he had since childhood. He was very reluctant in doing the task, but as a PBB housemate, he felt obligated to carry it out.

Bruce was the first one to be hit by the "needle." The donors were each given an eyepatch which they used to cover their eyes while giving blood. The blood-letting session took a few minutes, and while waiting for their turn, the other housemates talked to each other about their knowledge regarding first aid. They also tried to calm themselves by singing to the tune of Close To You and Moon River.

Zeke was the next donor, and after his turn, he was asked by the others on his experience. He told everyone that 400cc of blood was taken from him. This caused quite a panic to the others. They then returned to their singing to take their minds off the dreadful task.
