With their impressive early victory for the weekly task, the housemates found that they had a lot of time on their hands. But Big Brother had other plans for their ‘time’… in fact he had them go back in time, all the way to the Swingin’ 70s!
The housemates were tasked with turning the Big Brother house back forty years time by an interesting and entertaining show. They were provided authentic 70s costumes, complete with afro wigs, bell bottoms, and garments in psychedelic colors. The housemates were tasked not only to wear them, but be in character as well – exactly like Tirso Cruz and Nora Aunor, the premier Philippine love team of the 70’s! This started a slew of comments from Kian, Nel and the others like “Peace, maaan” and “Wooow pareeeh!” Bodie, on the other hand, seemed to have no problem emulating Pip. I wonder why…
Anyway, the housemates were later asked (through Gee-Ann) to put on a glamorous fashion show for Big Brother. They were to strut their stuff with the hall as their catwalk, and then put on an authentic 70s pose; and naturally everyone was excited about it. After lunch everyone began to put more details in their 70s character. Everyone laughed upon seeing Nel in large shades, a ‘fro and a handlebar moustache; Bruce even exclaimed: “Si Max Alvarado o!”
So after a few practices (with Robert hopelessly demonstrating a ‘Saturday night Fever’ move a la John Travolta), the housemates began their fashion show. They blundered at first, but after Big Brother reminded them to walk only one at a time, they soon couldn’t help but laugh at the proceedings. Wendy even told a groovy Nel: “Wow, sooo hot!”
After the show, the housemates still have to be in character. Will this blast from the past continue to be a source of fun for the housemates? When will Nel’s markered handlebar moustache finally fade? Yeah, baby!
