Sophomore swing

Friday capped off a rather exciting week in the Big Brother house. The residents were treated to a new companion everyday, in all sorts of gimmicks and colorful entrances for each one. Some, like Kian, stole the spotlight right away with his outright friendly attitude, while others, like Jasmin, mixed up the camaraderie of the housemates a little bit.

The Room Service weekly task comes to an end today, with the housemates preparing all sorts of food items for Big Brother. Anything from buko shakes to kare-kare, to even tinolang frog legs were prepared at a given signal. Jasmin’s strong attitude immediately translated itself as a little attitude problem for the others, especially Wendy and Mickey, who noticed the full extent of her dominating personality.

Dionne entered the house last night, and participated in making a giant pizza, perhaps the last of the Room Service task. For the afternoon the housemates were requested to donate blood, as part of a DOH program. This limited them to not participating in any strenuous activities for the day, and Mickey, Zeke, Robert and the others were blindfolded and led to the blood donation area.

This activity somehow incited a conversation about health and first aid among the housemates, and Jasmin showed a curious Kian some CPR know-how and the Heimlich maneuver. Dionne had a nice chat with Nel and the others about her significant other. “Yung experience ko sa mga dati kong boyfriend, hindi gaano ka-pleasant,” Dionne related. “kaya yung boyfriend ko now, siya na ata yung pinakagwapo, pinakamabait.” Kian and Nel also talked about some arrogant people they know, and Kian remarked with disgust: “Dapat keep your feet on the ground.”

What will the weekend bring for the housemates? Will they win their weekly task, or will it result in a setback?
